    Hi dan,
Welcome to Guatemala. I was there once, so I know what you are experiencing. If you have to share a room with larry, I hope you have some earplugs. (Just kidding). Be aware that any blessings you spread to the Guatemalan people, you will receive back so much more! I’ll pray for you all wek.

Several times today God brought you and Andrea to mind – and into my prayers. I’m proud of you guys being willing to step outside the comfort zone of West Michigan. I will especially pray that you guys can be at peace leaving your guys at home. They are trustworthy and mature enough to manage on their own while you are gone and best of all, they are in GOOD hands.

Strike a nice balance between hard work and relationships while you are there.

    Blessings,
    Bob

    Hi Dan,
You’ve done some mission trips before so you have a little bit of an idea of what it’s all about. But, you’ve never had Andrea along with you,so that’s extra special too! We’re praying for you and the whole team from Immanual, and also for your boys. Have a great week!

    Gods blessings,Rog and Cheri

    Hi Dan and Andrea

Dan, first comes my standard note for couples: Make sure that Andrea sees this as well. This is for her too! I’m getting lazy in my old age, and my fingers are getting tired.

Glad to see that you all made it down safely. You are probably in the middle of your first day of work right now. Our prayers are with you, that you both have a great week filled with safety and God’s blessings! I’m sure that God will use both of you to bless the people you contact in Guatemala, and that they will be a blessing to you.

  5. Dan Says:

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your notes and prayers! We all thought the day was more grueling than anticipated. Maybe because we are sleep deprived and adjusting to the altitude, which is higher than Denver’s elevation. Having a great time, it was a very rewarding day building a house for a couple with
eight children. The kids are already less shy with us and love to “help”.
Continue to appreciate your prayers, especially for health and strength!

  6. Bob Huisman Says:

    Dan,

Thanks for creating the opportunity for the team to go and experience God’s arms underneath them. We are praying for your back to be strong and secure. May God pour out his favor on you and the team.

  7. Myrna Stienstra Says:

    Dan,

Spoke with you son last night, they are fine. Expect to see them Sunday.

I tried to send a note to the whole team with the system, but don’t know if it was received or lost so here is a 2nd version.

Micah 6:8 has been on my mind.

Yesterday a friend from MN sent an email with the following ending-words to live well by, “Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly and Leave the rest to God”

God has shown us what is Good. He requires of us to “Act justly, Love mercy and Walk humbly with Him” Sounds like the above.

Clearly God had other plans for me and I’m feeling better. Had time for other events that are important for us as a church. God is Good! Words can’t express the strength of feelings you must be experiencing today/now. It is a mountain top time for all I expect.

    Hi Dan,
Praying for you, Bri and Scooter are doing well. Killing some time over here but mostly enjoying having parties while mom and dad are gone. Make sure you save room in your luggage for a cute brown eyed little girl. Make sure for have sun screen. Love ya.

    Hi Dan and Andrea

Jill and I have been spending sometime looking at the pictures. They are great! You guys have been in my thoughts and prayers quite often this week. I will see you guys on Tuesday.

  10. Jack Says:

    Hey Dan,

The good news is that the storm will be done when you get home. The bad news is that it will probably still be laying in your driveway.

I didn’t remember that the website was here until Sara sent me an email this afternoon. I spent some time looking at the pictures. I don’t think that words could ever give the understanding that the pictures do. The closest things that I’ve ever seen was probably in New Mexico.

Hope you’re liking Guatemalan food better than Indian.

  11. Sara Says:

    Hi Uncle Dan-

I hope you and Aunt Andrea are having a blessed time 🙂 I am praying for you and wishing I was there with you! I can’t wait to hear all of the stories when you get home!

    Sara
